Our blog is officially being renamed “Lucy’s Blog” (big difference, right?) and is moving to our fabulous new website! Our website (online store, in fact) has been operating since December 1st, and moving our blog to it’s address is the last step to making our site everything we want it to be.

We have great plans for our reinvented blog. I was first directed to this article by one of our fabulous customers posting on OUR facebook page. The same day, three of my personal facebook friends posted a link on THEIR pages. It’s going viral fast… you DON’T want to miss out!

We LOVE our customers… again and AGAIN!

Did I ever mention that I LOVE celebrating our fabulous customers? Well I DO! Here’s one of our long-time (five years:) customers that we’re very happy to celebrate!

Shelly Reinhart is just one of those people. You know… the ones you meet once and can’t possibly forget? I mean, I’m totally forgettable, but Shelly? No way! She’s fun, vivacious,  and oh-so quick-on-the-draw (humour-wise – I don’t think she actually shoots people:). She is also active in her community, working hard for the welfare of others!

Here’s a little bit about Shelly from the woman herself…

Shelly Reinhart, from the Royal City of New Westminster. I’m blessed to live in an awesome city (and so close to LUCY!) and enjoy spending a lot of time volunteering for the Royal City Pride Society (New West Pride). We have hosted a number of fabulous events which require dress-up…lucky me! Besides the time I spend volunteering, I also have a great family, husband Garnet (who also loves to see me dressed up!) and 2 great Chihuahua’s, Charlie and Lola, also known as our fur-kids!
 
I want to add a special thank you to Laura and the wonderful women who work at LUCY and embody the spirit of kindness and commitment and I’ve witnessed them take a women who feels blah, and turn their day into a fabulous experience. I’m a committed customer because of the continued wonderful experience me, and my friends receive from this wonderful boutique store.

We LOVE Our Customers.. AGAIN!

One of the incredible joys of working at LUCY Clothing, is meeting, and spending time with, fabulous women from our community! Here are two amazing customers that we’ve gotten to know throughout the past five years!

DEC 2012 100_crop (1)One of the nicest ladies you’ll ever meet is Cindie Kuurne. Soft-spoken, generous, and with a love for people of all stripes, Cindie can make you feel at ease from the first word she speaks. The girls here LOVE Cindie, and are always filled with joy (I’m NOT exaggerating) when she stops by to say hello! (Or to pick up the latest Kiyonna fashions!)

When I asked Cindie to send me a pic and a few words about herself, she wrote about a funny experience she had while at LUCY buying the jacket you see in these pics. Because it involves a piece of lingerie (from our sister store, Forever Yours Lingerie), another customer, and a misunderstanding about what exactly was “sagging” that day… I think I’ll leave it out of this post. ;0) Instead, here are a few lovely words from Cindie, to me that I thought I’d share…

I just like to thank all the gals as Lucy for not only their help over the past few years but their friendship. I always have a great time when I shop at Lucy’s not only is it a great shopping experience but we share stories about our lives and most of all laughs. No matter what kind of day or week I’ve had I always leave the store with a smile on my face.

We LOVE Our Customers!

From Vancouver Island, just off the coast of the Lower Mainland of BC, comes a beautiful lady with a great sense of humor and a confidence many of us wished we had!

ShannonWhile we don’t get to see Shannon too often in person, she’s a great facebook pal, and I even have her picture up on the bulletin board above my desk! (She let me use this pic of herself for a vintage-car event happening just outside LUCY last summer … and I couldn’t throw it away!)

Here’s a little bit about Shannon, in her own words…

I was born in Victoria to a woman who, prior to meeting my dad, was going to be a nun. My Dad emigrated from Holland and his first job was with a man who was to become my grandfather… Dad was able to win over my mom!!!

I was always my daddy’s daughter from his sense of humour through to his stature. I am an imposing 6’2″ and have always been two hundred and plenty pounds!  (ha ha). It took me a while to become comfy with my stature but I love it!  Mothers of young women who are voluptuous and tall have asked me to have chats with their daughters to assist with their self-esteem. My esteem came from being stubborn – it wasn’t always easy having to wear old-lady-style clothing and men’s shoes (I wear a size 15).  Oh times, how they have changed.

shanaroohooI am grateful for stores like Lucy and the designers they carry for enabling us fashionistas to find our niche. Now, there’s no stopping me!!!!   As much as I love dressing up for work (I work for the Federal Government) I love toiling in my 2 acres of gardens in Mill Bay and have a penchant for Pin-Up and anything vintage (like my 1955 Ford F100 pickup). Wishing you all a wonderful New Year!
