Tangerine Tango

Pantone releases a “Colour of the Year,” and 2012 is the year of Tangerine, well, Tangerine Tango to be precise! Not too far off from last year’s colour, honeysuckle (a cheery pink).  In the official press release, Pantone stated:

“The 2011 color of the year, Honeysuckle, encouraged us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.”

What a great theme for the upcoming year – fresh energy and moving forward!  Fashion-wise, I was both intrigued and overwhelmed.  I tried to think how I could try to incorporate this vivid hue into my wardrobe.  Well, I started researching the colour like crazy on my favorite sites (pinterest, polyvore, various blogs, etc) and found some visual inspiration for your enjoyment:

I’d love to know what you think about Tangerine Tango! Any great colour combinations, outfit ideas, style updates? Would you go so far as to include Tangerine Tango into your make-up or mani/pedis?

Love your curves,

Kelsey

Love this!! Thank you so much. I just *happen* to have a beautiful jersey top in almost exactly this colour from my favourite clothing store in Langley. I love it a tonne, but am not always confident what colours to wear it with. Love the first two colour palettes particularly – they fit in nicely with my aqua/teal/green collection.

Also, I will DEFINITELY be pursuing a tangerine tango pedicure, post-haste.

Elizabeth, How fun! Mani/pedis and accessories are a great way to try out a trend without plunging in, feet first! :) I get nervous with colours, too, but after the first wear I find I have the confidence to wear the piece again, and again, without any fears or worries. Thanks a lot! I’ll be designing a polo shirt for a certain activity. Combining colors is not my skill. I’ll sure get use of those color combination. :)
